Add Video To My Website!

Many times, we're approached by people who have a video, either professionally done or not, and they have no idea how to get that video on their website.

Step 1: Get Your Video In Electronic Format

"Ripping" a video from a DVD straight to your website is not a good idea. You're going to want to get it from the DVD into some kind of format that encoders are ready to work with. A resolution of 640x480 or 720x576 are both good resolutions to encode to. Windows MovieMaker or Apple's iMovie will both do the job for you.

Step 2: Edit (If you have to)

If your video needs any editing, do so before you publish to the web.(the above mentioned programs will work). Stay away from over useing transitions or effects.

Step 3: Log In and Upload!

We've mentioned when and where to use free vs. paid video services - follow that guideline in deciding which service to use. When your video is uploaded, you'll have some type of html code to embed into your webpage.

Step 4: Copy/Paste Your Video Code to Your Webpage

The key thing to remember in this process is that online video really isn't all that difficult to do, when you have the right tools.
